Time: The Criminal Case of Deputy Head of the State Revenue Committee Rafik Mashadyan's Associate Has Been Closed
According to the newspaper 'Time', recently the National Security Service (NSS) revealed a case of an official from the State Revenue Committee (SRC) demanding and receiving a bribe. In the Ararat region, a high-ranking SRC official, Deputy Head of Taxation Hovhannes Arakelyan, received a bribe of one million drams for not recording violations committed by a specific company and for failing to carry out inspections.
A criminal case was initiated at the NSS, and two individuals were charged and arrested.
However, according to 'Time', this criminal case has already been 'closed', and the guilty parties are now free. Our sources indicate that Marat Margaryan, head of the Ararat tax authority, who is known as the son of Goji from the Tramuvi Park, intervened in the matter to have the case 'closed' and to release the deputy. Marat Margaryan is a close associate of Deputy Head of the SRC Rafik Mashadyan. The case was 'closed' because it would have become clear during the investigation that no deputy could accept such a large bribe without the knowledge of the head.
Details are available in today's issue of the newspaper.
