Ostrich Behavior and Pharisaical Attitudes Lead to No Good, Mirzoyan
“Ostrich behavior and pharisaical attitudes never lead to a good outcome if we want to solve fundamental issues. Honesty is the only way forward,” stated the President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, while expressing his opinion regarding the discussions on the draft to terminate Hrayr Tovmasyan's powers as a Constitutional Court member.
Mirzoyan spoke about the “violations of the last 20 years,” which, according to him, have led to a distortion of the free market and falsified elections. There are currently cases initiated regarding these matters, and even if all those cases result in justifications, public distrust alone is enough to speak of a crisis.
“If we were to compile a top five of the lawyers for this regime, undoubtedly Hrayr Tovmasyan would be one of them,” noted Mirzoyan. He emphasized that both politically and morally, it is sufficient for Tovmasyan’s presidency in the Constitutional Court to be deemed unacceptable, but legally, it may not be adequate.
According to Mirzoyan, Tovmasyan has political motives to continue his office and to cover up the crimes of his regime.
