Minsk Group Co-Chairs Plan to Visit the Region: Zakharova
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, addressed the comments made by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov regarding the impasse in the Nagorno-Karabakh resolution during a press briefing on October 3, as reported by tert.am.
In response to a journalist's question about the necessity of direct negotiations between the parties, whether between Armenia and Azerbaijan or Artsakh and Azerbaijan, Zakharova stated, “Negotiations are to be held between two states.”
“I believe that direct negotiations between the two states will be announced by the representatives of the countries. I can say that in coordination with the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are planning to visit the region to conduct negotiations and discuss the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The timelines are still being clarified, and we will provide additional information on this,” Zakharova added.
