Alternative Ferry Transport Discussed Instead of Lars, Says Prime Minister
The issue of the Upper Lars checkpoint at the border of Russia and Georgia is well-known, and the Armenian side is trying to resolve this issue through the internal regulations of the EAEU. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this today in the National Assembly.
He noted that there have been several attempts to use ferry transport as an alternative, and this solution remains in the view of the Armenian authorities. The Prime Minister linked this to improving the operations of the South Caucasus Railway.
According to Pashinyan, it is not difficult to establish a state company that would engage in ferry transport; however, all questions must be answered before proceeding.
