My Testimony Is Not False: Torosyan Responds to Sanasaryan's Defense Attorney's Statement

"My testimony is not false and is based on the information I have," said Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan during a press briefing with journalists at the National Assembly today, commenting on the statement made by the head of the Inspection Body, Davit Sanasaryan, that a criminal case had been initiated against him based on the Minister's false testimony.

"If any of the individuals involved in the case believes that my testimony contains falsehoods, they can refer to the law enforcement system. This is a legal process, and if the involved parties think that someone's rights have been violated, they can appeal to restore their rights. After all, there is an overseeing prosecutor’s office," Torosyan stated.

The Minister emphasized that he presented all the information available to him to the NSS and reminded that the burden of proof does not lie with him, but with the investigative and judicial bodies.

Arsen Torosyan also indirectly advised Davit Sanasaryan, saying, "I would recommend Davit Sanasaryan to reflect on his actions over the last six months regarding planning his future." Torosyan left journalists' requests to comment on his statement unanswered, choosing not to elaborate.

It is noteworthy that today, on October 2, during a press conference, Davit Sanasaryan and his lawyers accused Arsen Torosyan of providing false testimony against Sanasaryan, noting that it verbatim coincides with the testimony of Samvel Adyan; it creates the impression that they were written in the same room.

Recall that Samvel Adyan, the head of the Procurement Control Department of the State Inspection Body, and another employee of the SI, medical equipment specialist Gevorg Khachatryan, were arrested on February 26 as part of a criminal case initiated regarding alleged interference in the announced tenders for hemodialysis supplies for medical institutions.

A charge was also brought against Davit Sanasaryan under Part 1 of Article 308 of the RA Criminal Code (abuse of official powers). A measure of restraint chosen for him was a signature not to leave. His official duties were also temporarily suspended.
