I Don't Think There Will Be Political Consequences: Dubnov on Putin-Bella Kocharian Meeting
“I don't think there will be political consequences,” said Russian political analyst Vadim Dubnov in an interview with us, commenting on the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Bella Kocharian, wife of second Armenian President Robert Kocharian, which took place on October 1 in Yerevan, as reported by 168.am.
According to Vadim Dubnov, one should not look for new messages and thoughts in every step taken by Moscow, as this meeting is a continuation of a certain political line held by the Russian President. The information under the message is not new and surprising, but rather does not signal anything significant.
“I don't think this meeting is very important; it was quite unexpected and not a new signal. It was a continuation of everything that Armenia was well aware of and well-informed about. This reflects the current state of relations between Yerevan and Moscow based on Armenia's present perceptions and approaches. This is light trolling, in which there is nothing new, and Moscow has found a way for light trolling. Putin did not meet Kocharian personally but found a way to maintain diplomatic norms and this trolling I am speaking about,” said Dubnov.
