I Don’t Think Gas Prices Will Change During the Winter Months, Says Deputy Prime Minister

The government is seeking to negotiate a long-term agreement on the gas price with the Russian side, rather than a one or two-year deal. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan while responding to the inquiry of Prosperous Armenia Party MP Sergey Bagratyan in parliament today.

He noted that by the end of the year, there would be a clearer understanding of the final outcomes. Grigoryan expressed that the negotiation process has been such that he does not believe an announcement of a gas price increase will be made the day before it takes effect.

He added that if there are changes in the gas price, they will come into effect after being officially announced. “I also do not think that the price will increase during the winter months. It seems there is a mutual understanding that such a thing should not be allowed,” stated Grigoryan.
