Brother of Vayots Dzor Governor's Assistant Arrested in Assault Case Against Lieutenant Colonel

In a high-profile incident that took place in Yeghegnadzor, the brother of the Vayots Dzor governor’s assistant, Zaven Grigoryan, has been arrested. Naire Harutyunyan, the head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, confirmed this in an interview with Aurora News.

“Hagop Grigoryan, the brother of Zaven Grigoryan, has been arrested and will later be detained on suspicion of deliberately causing severe harm to another person's health as part of a group,” she stated.

It is noteworthy that on the night of September 18, an incident involving military personnel and employees of the regional administration occurred in Yeghegnadzor, Vayots Dzor. According to media reports, the main perpetrator of the fight was ראשית Խարդունիան, who inflicted serious injuries on Lieutenant Colonel Ara Mkrtchyan, who is currently in a coma. The prosecutor's office previously reported that the governor’s assistant had been detained.

Later, Vayots Dzor Governor Tirdat Sargsyan stated that he had not been involved in the incident. However, the governor announced that he would resign following the completion of military exercises. It should be noted that these exercises will conclude in two days.
