Prominent Sculptor Arto Chakmakchian Passed Away Hours Ago

Hours ago, the renowned Canadian-Armenian sculptor, member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and intellectual Arto Chakmakchian passed away.

“Arto Chakmakchian shaped my album ‘Komitas: Ten Revelations’, leaving a note that is the most important indicator and assessment for me: Komitas has been the main theme of his work…” wrote Vahan Artsruni on his Facebook page.

It is worth noting that the sculptor was born in 1933 in Cairo, Egypt, and started engaging in sculpture at the age of twelve.
