Nikol Pashinyan and Gagik Tsarukyan Meet
According to the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, Gagik Tsarukyan, have met recently. Based on our sources, their meetings have become more frequent in recent times, with several occurring during the week.
During the Pashinyan-Tsarukyan meeting, various issues were discussed, with the primary focus being on the question of the termination of the powers of Constitutional Court President Hrayr Tovmasyan.
The newspaper attempted to clarify details from Tsarukyan's spokesperson, Iveta Tonoyan. She did not deny the meeting, but did not provide further details, stating, ‘I do not have information on this.’
It is known that the Prosperous Armenia faction is in no rush to announce how it will vote on the discussion regarding the termination of the Constitutional Court president's powers. According to our information, voting within the faction will be free. Our sources indicate that this is the main reason why Pashinyan initiated the meeting with Tsarukyan.
It is worth noting that only the Enlightened Armenia party has clearly stated its support for voting in favor. If there are dissenters in the 88-member ‘My Step’ faction, the voting on the issue could potentially be thwarted.
