‘Irates’. Armen Ashotyans Prevented Edmon Marukyan's Wish During Serj’s Era

‘Irates’ newspaper writes: It is said that Edmon Marukyan, often seen as a ‘client’ of all authorities, during Serj’s era, did everything he could to lead the Poland-Armenia friendship group. He requested parliamentary speaker Ara Babloyan for this role, however, the chairman of the external relations committee, Armen Ashotyan, thwarted the ‘classics’ wish by advising Babloyan that it would be inappropriate to appoint a person advocating for Armenia's exit from the EAEU, like Edmon Marukyan, as the head of a parliamentary friendship group with a country that pursues a radically anti-Russian policy. Such an appointment could pave the way for unexpected developments in Armenia's relations with Russia.

‘The client’ has been assigned to the friendship group with Malta, which is also a member of the EU. Recently, in an interview on H1, Marukyan expressed this ‘concern’ and vehemently protested against the former officials, presumably believing that had he been the head of the friendship group with Poland, he would be the ‘leader of the revolution,’ not Nikol.
