VIDEO: Birds Return to Nature, Ministry Reports
The press secretary of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Vardanyan, writes on his Facebook page: "In the past year, the Ministry of Environment, along with the Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Mineral Resources and various NGOs, has received numerous calls concerning injured birds.
Many of these birds were successfully rescued thanks to the direct efforts of the Ministry of Environment, the Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Mineral Resources, the 'BirdLink Armenia' NGO, the 'Protection of Endemic and Endangered Species' organization, the 'Birdwatching Association of Armenia', and the 'Zoo Fauna Art' organization, which organized their care.
Following a joint assessment of the birds' conditions, it was decided to release into nature 3 storks, 1 woodcock, 1 common buzzard, 1 rock pigeon, 1 Eurasian tree sparrow, and 1 corn bunting. The release of the rehabilitated birds back into nature was conducted with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Environment, the National Academy of Sciences, the Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Mineral Resources, the 'Zoo Fauna Art' organization, and the aforementioned NGOs. The birds' condition was excellent."
