Second Meeting of Heads of Authorized Bodies in the Transport Sector of EAEU Member States Held in Yerevan

Today, the second meeting of the heads of authorized bodies in the transport sector of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states was held in Yerevan, chaired by Suren Papikyan, Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.

In his opening remarks, Suren Papikyan expressed gratitude to both the Armenian government and the Eurasian Economic Commission for organizing this meeting within the framework of the international economic conference titled “Development of the Transit Potential of the Eurasian Union.” The Minister also thanked representatives of the member states for their support and participation in this significant event.

During the meeting, several agenda items were discussed in a working format, pertaining to the implementation of the main directions and phases of the coordinated transport policy program for EAEU member states for the years 2018-2020 (“roadmaps”), the preparation of proposals for the development of the transport sector, the implementation of cabotage and road freight transport programs, and the strategic programs for the development of Eurasian economic integration by 2025.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers decided to hold the next ministerial meeting on November 22, 2019, in Moscow during the “Transport Week” event.
