Doctors Allegedly Assault Armenian Boy in Rostov Hospital's Intensive Care Unit

An Armenian named Roman Babayan, originally from Uzbekistan, has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a Rostov hospital after an electric shock accident at work.

He was taken to the burns unit of the city’s ambulance hospital. However, according to his friend Arzu Nabiyev, both the doctors at the Rostov hospital and the employer have shown no interest in providing help to the victim.

As Arzu Nabiyev claims, Roman Babayan has been subjected to violence by the medical staff in the intensive care unit. Nabiyev also mentioned that Babayan is not being fed, and the food he brought has gone bad.

“My friend said he dreamed of his bed burning and started screaming for help. Then he jumped off the bed to the floor, but he is not allowed to move. The doctor rushed over and started hitting him. The nurses changed the bed, but I saw there was blood left on the mattress. I called the on-duty doctor and asked for explanations. He said the patient had lost his mind. The doctor shouted at Roman in my presence and told him not to make up stories and tell others,” Nabiyev told the news outlet 161.RU.

Nabiyev attempted to record Roman’s account, but after the incident, a notice was posted stating that filming is prohibited in the unit. According to Nabiyev, the doctors immediately placed Roman in the corridor. He is forced to bring food to his friend almost every day.

According to him, Roman is not being fed in the hospital, with the staff claiming they can’t keep up with all the patients. For his part, the head of the burns unit, Harutyun Dombayev, stated that the hospital has never before faced such a significant volume of negativity on social media. He alleged that Arzu Nabiyev, who presented himself as Roman’s brother or cousin, is fabricating everything.

According to Dombayev, Arzu records conversations and films hospital staff with a camera, then edits them in a way that suits him.

The outlet also reached out to Babayan’s employer, Rostislav Snopikov, who stated that Arzu Nabiyev had tried to extort 500,000 rubles from the company for the operation. He also mentioned that he does not refuse to provide assistance and has already transferred 50,000 rubles for Roman’s treatment.
