50% of Schools in Armenia Will Have Robotics Laboratories

As of September 2019, there have been 284 "Armat" engineering laboratories operating in Armenian schools, organized into approximately 340 groups, with over 7,500 students participating. This information was provided by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

With the government's decision, an additional 834 million AMD has been allocated to the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises for the purpose of expanding the program, under which the number of laboratories is set to double by the end of the year. Out of the newly opened 284 laboratories, 5 will be located in Yerevan, while the remaining 279 will be established in schools across the Lori, Shirak, and Tavush regions.

By the end of this year, thanks to both public and private investments, Armenian schools will have approximately 580 laboratories, ensuring that almost all schools in Lori, Shirak, and Tavush will be equipped with new labs. As a result, by the end of 2019, around 50% of Armenian schools will be equipped with "Armat" engineering laboratories.

It is noteworthy that in 2018, about 180 million AMD was allocated for the maintenance and development of the program, and in 2019, over 1 billion 186 million AMD was invested, including 352.2 million AMD for the salaries of group leaders, with the remainder for the acquisition and setup of laboratories.
