Local Government Elections in 9 Communities Across 7 Regions of Armenia Today

Today, September 29, local government elections are taking place in 9 communities across 7 regions of Armenia.

Community heads will be elected in the following areas: in Armavir's Zartonq, Parakar, Nor Kesarits, and Tandzut communities; in Aragatsotn's Ghazaravan; in Gegharkunik's Lchakh; in Shirak's Getap; in Lori's Yeghenut and Lusaghbyur communities; and in Tavush's Khashtarak and Ararat's Mrgavan communities.

The electoral contest is particularly engaging in Parakar community of Armavir region, where four candidates are vying for the position of community head: the current community head Samvel Vardanyan, his deputy Sardur Tevosyan, and council members Davit Minasian and Samvel Avetisyan. All candidates are running as independents.
