Major and Tragic Car Accident Near Sevan's 'Gai Post': Renault Megane Crashes into Lexus, Casualty Reported
On September 27, a major and tragic car accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region, according to Shamshyan.com. Around 6:00 PM, the driver of a Renault Megane with license plate 35 XO 160 collided with a Lexus LX 570 belonging to 51-year-old Hovik Sedrakyan from the village of Varsevan, parked in the permissible area on the 58th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway while heading towards Dilijan.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan from the scene, the passenger of the Renault died on the spot, while the driver and another individual were transported to the Sevan Medical Center with bodily injuries. The first responders included the driver of the Lexus, citizens, traffic police, and firefighters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations' rescue service in Sevan.
The photojournalist noted that the impact caused the Lexus to move forward and crash into the iron barrier separating the road. Those present at the scene mentioned that the deceased was the brother-in-law of the Renault Megane's driver.
