What Issues Were Discussed Between Nikol Pashinyan and the Prime Minister of India

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, during his working visit to New York.

The Prime Minister of Armenia welcomed his Indian counterpart and noted that the two countries and peoples have strong historical ties that hold great potential for the development of bilateral relations. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia values its cooperation with India and is ready to continue consistent and active joint work towards fully realizing the existing potential.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his happiness for the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister of Armenia for the first time and discussed issues related to Armenian-Indian relations. According to Narendra Modi, the friendly ties between Armenia and India are ancient and strong, and India is interested in developing bilateral cooperation.

Pashinyan and Modi discussed the prospects for deepening economic, political, cultural, and humanitarian ties between the two countries. The interlocutors exchanged ideas, particularly on the potential for cooperation in the film industry. In the context of expanding trade relations, they addressed the issue of activating communications between business circles and organizing mutual visits.

The parties agreed to support the exchange of business delegations at the government level, which will serve as an additional impetus for the development of bilateral economic cooperation.

The Prime Ministers of Armenia and India also exchanged views on the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the situation in the Kashmir region.
