Russia to Allocate $20 Million to Armenia
The Russian government is set to approve a decision to allocate approximately $20 million in non-repayable aid to Armenia for the implementation of humanitarian programs.
This information has been reported by the Russian Embassy in Armenia. According to a post on the embassy's Facebook page, "Up to $18 million will be allocated through the United Nations World Food Program to establish a sustainable school feeding system. More than $20 million has been allocated for this initiative from 2016 to 2019. Another approximately $2.8 million will be provided to the UN Development Program, aimed at supporting inclusive economic development in the border regions of Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor."
It should be noted that Russia also funds several other UN programs, which can be reviewed in the accompanying infographic.
