David Sanasaryan and Others' Case Sent to Court

The case against David Sanasaryan, the head of the State Oversight Service, who had his powers suspended after acquiring the status of a defendant, has been sent to court and assigned to Judge David Balayan. This information comes from the Judicial Information System.

David Sanasaryan has been charged with the abuse of official authority, as he used his position as head of the State Oversight Service for personal interests, contrary to the interests of the service, and failed to fulfill his official duties. He faces charges under the first part of Article 308 of the RA Criminal Code, which stipulates that the abuse of official powers must cause significant harm to the rights and lawful interests of individuals and organizations. Penalties can range from a fine of two to three hundred times the minimum wage, disqualification from holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for a maximum period of five years, detention for two to three months, or imprisonment for a maximum of four years.

Samvel Adyan has been charged for illegally intervening in the procurement processes for medical equipment needed by the Ministry of Health, 'St. Grigor Lusavorich', and 'Vanadzor' medical centers, in collusion with the chief specialist of the same department, Gevorg Khachatryan, during 2018-2019. They are alleged to have pressured changes to technical specifications for autoclavs and hemodialysis equipment in order to benefit their connections with the 'Zorashen' LLC company in public tenders. The changes made led to a decrease in the quality characteristics of the items to be supplied, aligning them with those offered by 'Zorashen' LLC. He is also charged under parts one of Article 308 and two of Article 325 of the RA Criminal Code for forgery of documents, stamps, seals, and forms.

Gevorg Khachatryan, serving as the temporary head of the procurement monitoring department, has also been charged with similar allegations of illegally intervening in the procurement processes in favor of 'Zorashen' LLC, alongside Samvel Adyan.

Taron Avetisyan is charged with facilitating the abuse of power by providing information and assistance to Samvel Adyan and Gevorg Khachatryan, whom he coordinated with under the directives of Haik Karapetyan, director of 'Zorashen' LLC. He too faces penalties under the relevant articles of the RA Criminal Code.

Preventive measures have been selected for them in the form of a signature not to leave the country.
