Congress Officially Begins Trump's Impeachment Process

The White House released the transcript of the phone call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday. This phone call has prompted House Democrats to consider filing a vote of no confidence against Trump.

According to the provided text, Trump did indeed ask Zelensky to investigate whether former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate, had halted an investigation into the Ukrainian company that employed his son. Democrats are now accusing Trump of trying to undermine Biden's chances of being elected.

According to the transcript of the phone call between the two presidents, Trump told Zelensky, “Biden bragged that he stopped the prosecution. Now many people want to find out about that. Whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be a great help.”

Trump denies the Democrats' accusations that he withheld military aid intended for Ukraine until he received information that would discredit the Democratic candidate.

Just minutes after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the impeachment process against him, Trump tweeted several messages stating, “Ignoring the important events happening at the UN General Assembly these days, the Democrats have started the witch hunt again.” Prior to the release of the call transcript, Trump said, “You will see that unlike the Joe Biden and his son situation, here there is no quid pro quo.”
