Babayans Desire for Team's Unanimous Decision on His Leadership Without His Presence

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that on September 22 in Stepanakert, during the founding congress of Samvel Babayan's party, it turns out that the "commander" was not present. We learned from Babayan's party member and newly elected political council member Sergey Zakaryan that the official explanation was that he was ill, while unofficially, it is said that Babayan wanted the team to unanimously decide to make him the party president without his presence. The party is called "United Homeland," and the founding documents will soon be presented to the Ministry of Justice of Artsakh for registration.

Will Babayan's absence hinder the party's registration? "Of course not. He is a delegate of the congress, moreover, everyone has unanimously voted for him, and there is no restriction in the law that if a person is not present, they cannot be registered," Zakaryan said.

The law requires 300 founding members for party registration, as well as the presence of territorial organizations in at least one-third of the regions of Artsakh. "But we plan to have territorial organizations in all 7 regions. Moreover, we had delegates from the city of Stepanakert and all 7 regions at the congress," Zakaryan added.
