Young Man Robs Several Houses in Nor Arenj
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has revealed several circumstances regarding residential burglaries committed by a 24-year-old young man in the administrative district of Erebuni and Nubarashen in Yerevan. He has been formally charged. This information comes from the public relations department of the Investigative Committee.
As a result of extensive investigative and procedural actions, along with operational and intelligence measures, information was obtained indicating that between July 31 and September 12, 2019, a 24-year-old resident of Hrazdan illegally gained access to several houses in the Nor Arenj neighborhood of Yerevan by opening the European windows located on the ground floors, from which he stole various types of gold jewelry, cash, and other items.
Additionally, in the same neighborhood of Yerevan, the young man attempted to commit theft in two houses, but the crime was not completed due to unforeseen circumstances.
Measures taken have also uncovered another incident of burglary committed by the young man back in the winter of 2011, during which a gold ring was stolen.
Based on a combination of sufficient evidence, the 24-year-old has been charged under Article 177, Part 3, Clause 1.1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (2 episodes). A restrictive measure has been chosen in the form of a signed undertaking not to leave.
The preliminary investigation continues. Extensive and urgent investigative actions are being carried out, alongside operational and intelligence measures aimed at uncovering other possible crimes committed by the 24-year-old resident of Hrazdan, identifying the victims of his actions, and recovering stolen material evidence.
