VIDEO: Customs Uncovers 5.5 kg of Drugs in Iranian Citizen's Luggage
The State Revenue Committee's Department for Combating Smuggling recently prevented another attempt to illegally transport drugs across the state border. Officials at the "Agarak" border crossing inspected the luggage of Iranian citizen Sh.S. upon his arrival in Armenia.
As a result, 5.5 kg of a white crystalline substance resembling methamphetamine was discovered hidden in the side compartment of his travel bag. This information was reported by the Public Relations and Information Department of the SRC.
A criminal case has been initiated by the SRC’s Investigation Department based on the materials compiled by the Department for Combating Smuggling, under Part 1 of Article 267.1 of the RA Criminal Code. The Iranian citizen has been detained.
