This Year, the Central Bank Bought 400 Million Dollars from the Market: Pashinyan

During a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in New York, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the phase of rapid changes has already begun, but that does not mean that all changes have taken place.

He noted that there is an opportunity to build infrastructure in Armenia with budgetary funds, similar to the last time when Kirk Kerkorian donated 100 million dollars to Armenia.

“In just the first half of this year, we have exceeded the state budget of the Republic of Armenia by approximately 120-125 million dollars,” said Pashinyan.

“For the past 4-5 months, I have also mentioned from the National Assembly podium that I am not satisfied with the scale of the fight against corruption. This is also the reason why there have been significant, tangible, and radical personnel changes in the law enforcement system. There is this trend within the law enforcement system as well, where a good month has passed, two months have passed, three months have passed, and well, let’s start agreeing a little with this person, a little with that person. I have said that I do not agree with that and I will not agree with it,” he added.

The Prime Minister also noted that for the first time this year, the Central Bank bought 400 million dollars from the market because there was such a surplus of dollars that the Central Bank was compelled to do so. According to him, international reserves in our country have never been higher than they are today.
