Inmates Attempted to Smuggle Drugs Using Homing Pigeons

On September 25, at around 5:00 PM, employees of the Armenian Ministry of Justice's "Artik" penitentiary, acting on operational information, discovered two hand-trained homing pigeons on the trees behind Building No. 4. One of the pigeons was found to have a plastic ring marked "ЖАКУ" on its leg.

According to expert analysis, the use of the discovered pigeons was intended to attract messenger pigeons, including those capable of transporting illegal substances, and to ensure their landing.

Materials are being prepared regarding the attempted smuggling of prohibited items through messenger pigeons.
