Attempted Murder with a Hunting Rifle Revealed in Vanadzor

The Lori Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee has arrested an individual suspected of attempting to murder a 27-year-old man. This information was reported by the press service of the Committee.

Earlier, it was reported that on September 19, 2019, a resident of Vanadzor, born in 1991, sought medical assistance at the Vanadzor Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated by the Lori Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee under part 1 of Article 34-104 of the RA Criminal Code, with large-scale investigative actions undertaken to clarify all the circumstances of the case.

As a result, several circumstances related to the young man's gunshot injury were clarified, including the crime scene, motive, and the identity of the person alleged to have committed the crime, who is also a resident of Vanadzor, born in 1988.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, using a friend’s vehicle, went to meet the 27-year-old man and, motivated by revenge, fired shots at him from a hunting rifle he had in his bag before fleeing the scene.

As a result of extensive investigative and operational measures undertaken in connection with the criminal case, the alleged perpetrator, a 30-year-old man, presented himself to the prosecuting body the day before. He was arrested and interrogated regarding the incident.

It was also reported earlier that the driver of the mentioned vehicle has been located and is involved as an accused under part 1 of Article 334 of the RA Criminal Code. A signature not to leave was chosen as a preventive measure against him.

To clarify circumstances of significant importance in the criminal case, forensic medical, forensic ballistic, and forensic trace examinations have been appointed. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Immediate investigative and other procedural measures are being undertaken to clarify all circumstances of the case and to ensure an objective, complete, and comprehensive investigation.
