Fire Extinguished in Khachik Village: Approximately 52.2 Hectares of Grassland Burned
On September 22, at 17:26, a fire that broke out in the "Karmir Sakhka" area of Khachik village in the Vayots Dzor region has been extinguished. Approximately 52.2 hectares of grassland were burned.
It is recalled that on September 20, at 19:42, the "911" service received a report that a fire had erupted in a grassland in the same area.
By September 21, at 12:00, the fire had been contained and a duty was established. The area of the fire amounted to approximately 52 hectares of grass cover. On the same day at 17:20, information was received that strong winds posed a risk of the fire spreading. It was determined that new hot spots of the fire had been discovered.
The fire was fully contained by 21:34. A total of 14 rescuers and 11 residents of Khachik village were involved in the firefighting operations. Firefighting efforts have been ongoing in the area for two days, and a watch duty is being maintained. The burned area consists of about 52.2 hectares of grassland.
