VIDEO: Tonoyan on Vanetsyan's Resignation

The director of the National Security Service is my friend, he is my colleague. We have closely collaborated for a year and a half, said Armenia’s Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan in an interview with reporters today.

"I cannot comment on Vanetsyan's resignation, as it is a personal decision. I also cannot comment on the text, because comments are his prerogative, and I believe Vanetsyan will do it in due time," the minister stated.

Regarding the question about respect related to military ranks, Davit Tonoyan remarked, "He expressed himself that way, in any case." In response to discussions that Vanetsyan's resignation is a consequence of disagreements with the Prime Minister, the minister replied, "I believe that resignations do not happen without disagreements." When asked if he is aware of the reasons for Vanetsyan and Pashinyan's differences, Tonoyan answered negatively.
