Prime Minister Reports Lowest Recorded Levels of Gas and Electricity Losses
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the issue of gas losses in the transportation and distribution systems in Armenia on his Facebook page. The publication presents data indicating that as of the first half of 2019, gas losses in Armenia's gas transportation and distribution systems are at their lowest recorded level, totaling only 4.9% of imported gas or 58.4 million cubic meters. Furthermore, compared to the previous year, losses and expenditures have decreased by nearly one percentage point.
During the same period, the electricity distribution networks in Armenia reported the lowest levels of losses ever recorded, at 7.2%. In comparison, losses in 2018 were 8.2%, in 2017 they were 9.1%, and in 2016, they were 10.7%.
It is also noteworthy that in the first half of this year, electricity consumption increased by 6.3% compared to the previous year, totaling 2,988.2 million kWh.
