Armenian Yuri Djorkaeff Takes Position at FIFA
Former French national team midfielder, Armenian descent Yuri Djorkaeff has taken a position at FIFA. Djorkaeff has been appointed as the president of the FIFA Foundation. The foundation operates worldwide aimed at social programs and the development of football infrastructure.
Djorkaeff has played for teams such as Strasbourg, Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter, Kaiserslautern, Bolton, and Blackburn. He has appeared in 67 games for the French national team, scoring 26 goals. He was the champion of the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 European Championship, as well as the winner of the 1996 European Cup and the 1998 UEFA Cup.
