What Does Arthur Vanetsyan Hint At, What Assignment Was He Supposed to Execute?
According to the editorial of "Zhoghovurd", the question arises: Why did the director of the NSS, Arthur Vanetsyan, resign? He was considered the most esteemed official in the ruling team after Prime Minister Pashinyan, one of the most adequate figures who assessed the situation and outcomes with a sober outlook. His presence grounded nearly everyone in the ruling party.
In this team, he maintained direct contact with Prime Minister Pashinyan, which was best facilitated by living next door to the Prime Minister at the governmental summer residence. The officials of the new Armenia were primarily sobered by him.
It is perhaps unprecedented in the history of Armenia that a high-ranking official of this caliber would leave their position with such emphatic statements. Vanetsyan states: "State building has its own logic; the randomness of decisions, the hastiness of actions, differentiating the primary from the secondary, and the inability to distinguish the transient from the permanent is not the way to achieve goals. This has nothing in common with a soldier's dignity; the insignia of a soldier and such a course of events are incompatible. My resignation should serve as a sobering step towards 'Stop!' In all other scenarios, the debt to the homeland will prevail."
What does Arthur Vanetsyan hint at, and what assignment was he supposed to execute that 'contradicts the dignity of a soldier'? More details can be found in today's issue of the newspaper.
