Let No One Try to Link Me to Mikhail Minasian: Vanetsyan

Arthur Vanetsyan advises against fishing in muddy waters. The former head of the National Security Service has responded to journalists' questions for the first time since his resignation, including one related to the son-in-law of Serzh Sargsyan.

The former director of the National Security Service, Arthur Vanetsyan, does not want his name to be associated with Mikhail Minasian, Armenia's former ambassador to the Vatican. Vanetsyan stated this during a conversation with journalists today.

“Let no one try to link me to Mikhail Minasian, as he is a person who must answer many questions before the law of the Republic of Armenia. There will be an investigation, and the investigation will determine whether he must stand before the law or not. Let no one fish in muddy waters,” he said.

It is noteworthy that yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he had signed the resignation request for Vanetsyan. This was followed by Vanetsyan's announcement: “I made this decision with as much confidence as when I agreed to take on the position of Director of the National Security Service at a critical juncture for our country. My year and a half of activity has always been in front of all of you, and I have acted on one principle: The Homeland and the honor of a soldier are above all else.”

He stated that the randomness of decisions, the haste of actions, the confusion of the primary with the secondary, and the transient with the permanent, are not a path that leads to achieving goals.

Following this announcement, opinions emerged on social media and in the media suggesting that he resigned because of connections with the old system, particularly with Mikhail Minasian.
