Iran Warned It Could Cut Oil Exports, Skepticism Remained, Says Vardan Voskanyan
Vardan Voskanyan wrote on his Facebook page, “Just a few months ago, when Iran was clearly warning that in response to sanctions on its oil exports, it could ensure that no oil was exported from the Persian Gulf region at all, many regarded these statements with skepticism.
The recent high-tech attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil production capabilities have at least partially paralyzed Saudi oil extraction, creating partial panic in global markets. Oil prices rose by 10%, and the President of the United States announced that he is ready to open the country’s strategic oil reserves if necessary.
Can you imagine, the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, who until recently, so to speak, only had the skill to load a Kalashnikov behind stones, are influencing the fate of the strategic oil reserves of the world’s number one superpower and threatening to create a global economic crisis, while the ancient Iranian empire quietly awaits a $280 billion investment from China that will exponentially develop the country’s oil and gas sector.”
