Hraparak: Davit Tonoyan and Osipyan to be Dismissed as Well. Who Will Replace Them?
Hraparak newspaper writes: "According to certain information, the resignation of Arthur Vanetsyan will kick off a parade of dismissals. Davit Tonoyan and Valeri Osipyan will also be relieved of their duties.
It is no coincidence that yesterday the National Assembly accepted the amendment to the criteria for the appointment of heads of law enforcement bodies, which will allow the Prime Minister to appoint the Chief of Police or the head of the National Security Service from any citizen of the Republic of Armenia over 25 years old who has lived in the country for four years, not just from the system.
According to government sources, the most likely candidate for the director of the National Security Service is Vahe Ghazaryan, a friend of Nikol Pashinyan, who is currently the commander of the police troops and deputy chief of police, although the name of former Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan is also circulating.
Meanwhile, the candidacy of Vilen Gabrielyan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract party and known for his Facebook persona 'Navaq Choghov', is being discussed for the position of Chief of Police, as he does not hide his ambitions.
