BHK Does Not Rush to Comment on Arthur Vanetsyan's Resignation
The Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly considers it premature to evaluate the resignation of former National Security Service Director Arthur Vanetsyan until clarity is provided regarding the statements made by the authorities.
This was stated by the faction secretary Arman Abovyan during a press briefing at the National Assembly on September 17.
“We see certain processes within the government, and for making a political or other assessment, all the statements that were made must be clarified. We can search for subtexts and draw conclusions; however, considering the possible reactions to the matter, I believe that a little clarity is needed for making an assessment,” Abovyan stated.
It is worth recalling that during a press conference held on September 16, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he had signed the order to terminate the powers of NSS Director Arthur Vanetsyan. In accordance with the decree, President Armen Sarkissian dismissed Arthur Vanetsyan on the same day. Arthur Vanetsyan was appointed as NSS Director on May 10, 2018.
