Armenian Football Journalists' Team Returns from Lithuania with an Award

The defender of the Armenian football journalists' team, Hovhannes Melkonyan, has been recognized by the organizers as the best player of the tournament and awarded with a jersey of the Lithuanian national team.

The Armenian team secured second place with 17 points in the international tournament held in Lithuania, winning silver medals. Out of ten matches played, our team won five and lost only two.

The tournament took place from September 13 to 15 in the city of Druskininkai, Lithuania. It's hard to recall a tournament in which the Armenian journalists' team participated without receiving an award. This was the fourth time our team took part in this increasingly traditional competition in Lithuania, and in the previous three participations, Armenian journalists finished in the top three. This time, our team took a step further to become the second prizewinners.

However, our team does not rest on its laurels with just this award. Hovhannes Melkonyan has also been named the best player of the tournament and received a jersey from the Lithuanian national team.

The team comprises staff members from various Armenian media outlets. It is worth noting that the tournament was representative, featuring teams from Germany, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Moldova, Latvia, and Lithuania.

The traditional football tournament for journalists is organized by the Lithuanian Journalists' Union.
