VTB Wants to Donate Teghut Mine to the Government

VTB Bank has expressed its willingness to hand over the Teghut mine to the government.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmed this information during a press conference in Vanadzor but did not provide many details. He stated, “Let’s just acknowledge these statements so that they do not negatively impact the process.”

“Mr. Kostin (President of VTB Bank) mentioned to me in a conversation in St. Petersburg (likely during the economic forum held in June in St. Petersburg) that they are ready to donate the mine to the government. Now the question is whether the bank is ready to donate the mine, whether the government is ready to accept it, and why isn’t it happening? This is because there are certain legal disputes. We should note that we have such a situation, and we will try to organize the further developments as effectively as possible,” the Prime Minister noted.
