Now they will say my little girl Arpin has a 50 percent share in Teghut. Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, addressed the citizens of the Republic urging them not to fall for manipulations regarding the Amulsar issue.
“We must not fall for manipulations, including from my beloved, respected friends. When any citizen picks up a device, stands and says, ‘Hey, I will measure the radiation, there is such a background that a massacre is starting in Armenia,’ I consider that manipulation. There is a government in Armenia, which will close the roads if there is a real necessity to do so, and will open them if needed. I do not accept the viewpoint that says 'this is how it will be, and that's it, there is no other option.' If an activist can say that, the government cannot say so. The government is a body whose actions must be based on law, be legal, and derive from the Constitution,” he stated.
Pashinyan recalled that during his vacation, he was approached and told that the exploitation of the Teghut mine should be stopped today due to certain issues, stating that barriers are crumbling and there will be thousands of victims.
The Prime Minister said he had sent the relevant inspection bodies for an assessment as the first step, and they guaranteed that at least for the visible future, that barrier would not break, but for the invisible or long-term future, further examination was necessary.
“I said, now they will say my little girl Arpin has a 50 percent share in Teghut, they will say everything, only they won't say ‘we made a mistake.’ Regarding the Amulsar issue, we will pursue the truth, wherever the truth leads us, we will make that decision,” he added, noting that from the first day he has not been guided by a preconception of closing or not closing the mine, but it was essential to know the whole truth about it.
