Karapet Chalyan Suffers Disappointing Defeat and Will Compete for Bronze

In the 77 kg weight category, Greco-Roman wrestler Karapet Chalyan faced a defeat in the semifinals of the World Wrestling Championship continuing in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

In the semifinal, Chalyan's opponent was Kebs Byurbeg representing Sweden. At a score of 0-1, Chalyan managed to score 2 points from his opponent. However, 2 minutes before the end of the match, the Swedish wrestler managed to take Chalyan down and secured 4 points immediately. The match ended with a score of 2-5.

It is worth noting that Chalyan started his fight in the round of 1/16, where he achieved a hard-fought victory over Japan's Shohei Yabiku with a score of 4-2. In the 1/8 finals, Chalyan competed against Rivas Espino from Venezuela and finished the match early, winning 9-0. In the quarterfinals, Chalyan secured a narrow victory of 5-4 against Pavel Lyakh from Belarus.
