Artur Alexandranyan Will Not Compete in the Finals

The Greco-Roman wrestler, multiple world and European champion and Olympic gold medalist Artur Alexandranyan will not participate in the finals of the World Championship ongoing in Kazakhstan.

This was announced by the press secretary of the wrestling federation. Yesterday, he sustained an incompatible injury during the competition, having broken a rib.

As a result, Alexandranyan will receive the title of the 2019 World Championship runner-up. The gold medal will be awarded to the current world champion and representative of Russia, Musa Evloev.

Alexandranyan has also secured a spot for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
