Amulsar is Doomed to Become a Mine: Arthur Ghazinyan

Amulsar cannot remain a mountain; it is doomed to turn into a mine, whether it is for gold or uranium is of little importance. This was stated by Arthur Ghazinyan, the president of the ‘One Armenia’ party, on his Facebook page.

He specifically noted, “This is not my wish, and more so, not my decision; this is Nikol’s decision, which is encapsulated in one thought he has expressed that is subconsciously echoed by his adherents. And the thought is this: ‘there is no legal basis to prohibit the exploitation of the mine.’ They have also said that besides luck, a person should also have common sense and think before speaking. This statement alone is sufficient for ‘Lydian’ to win any international court proceedings initiated against Armenia concerning Amulsar.”

“The first and sole argument that will be presented by ‘Lydian’ against the Armenian government is this unfortunate and senseless statement by the Prime Minister, and the proceedings will conclude with Armenia’s defeat. I do not know if Pashinyan made this statement consciously or if this is yet another unthought-out and uncalculated thought that could become a disaster for Armenia and all of us. Therefore, Pashinyan has no choice but to send troops to Amulsar, crush the protesters, open the road to the mine, and exploit it. Can you tell me what the ‘Lydian’ company should do in this situation?”
