Former Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Vahe Nikoyan to be Questioned
The newspaper ‘Hraparak’ reports today that Vahe Nikoyan, the former deputy mayor of Yerevan, is expected to be questioned soon within the framework of a criminal case initiated by the prosecutor's office.
In August, the Office of the General Prosecutor of Armenia announced that the loan obligation of more than 700 million AMD of the company ‘Parking City Service’ has been unjustifiably written off at the expense of the community budget of Yerevan.
Additionally, it has been established that officials of the company abused their official positions by miscalculating the staff salary coefficients during 2017-2018 and the first quarter of 2019, leading to unauthorized salary increases, withdrawals of funds for vehicles without proper refurbishment, and the allocation of funds for fuel for vehicles that were not actually operational. This comprehensive misappropriation amounts to a total of 20 million 714 thousand 515 AMD.
A criminal case has been initiated under parts 2 of Article 308 and part 3 of point 1 of Article 179 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. According to information, Vahe Nikoyan is involved in the case, as he oversaw these processes. However, the newspaper was unable to reach Nikoyan for comment, as the subscriber was ‘unavailable’.
