Residents of Tovi Nar Village Protest Against Vardenis Mine Exploitation

Residents of the Tovi Nar community in Gegharkunik Province have rejected the application for geological studies in the Vardenis polymetallic mining area and boycotted the hearings organized by Geomining LLC.

The villagers chanted slogans like "We won’t let you sell our future" and "We are against the exploitation of mines." According to the residents, they oppose any discussions regarding the mining operations.

One resident stated, "These are our mountains, and we stand like mountains behind our mountains. Anyone who wants to come here can do so. The person who wants to open a mine should do it in their own backyard, where it is so healthy, with their family sitting next to it."

The residents insist that the village council should issue a notification stating that the discussion did not take place because the community is against any such discussions.
