Kim Kardashian to Visit Armenia in October

The organizers of the "WCIT 2019" have announced today that activist, entrepreneur, beauty mogul, and producer Kim Kardashian-West will participate in the "WCIT 2019" 23rd World Congress on IT as a special keynote speaker and panelist.

According to Armenpress, one of the most prestigious events in the IT world will take place this year in Yerevan, Armenia, from October 6-9.

Kim Kardashian-West will speak at the "Marketplace of Ideas" plenary session, where the impact of decentralized technologies on the popularization of entertainment, media, and journalism will be discussed, as well as how they have transformed our methods of disseminating art and information in the pursuit of creating new stars.

The discussions in the "Marketplace of Ideas" panel will clarify the implications of these developments for personal privacy, social relationships, trust in institutions, and new business models.

During the "Marketplace of Ideas" session, after her individual speech, Kim Kardashian-West will have a face-to-face interview and then join a distinguished group of panelists, including the co-founder and CEO of the internationally renowned Armenian company "PicsArt," Hovhannes Avoyan, to continue the discussions.

Alexander Yesayan, president of the organizing committee of "WCIT 2019" and co-founder of Ucom, the largest telecommunications service provider in Armenia, stated regarding Kim Kardashian-West's visit: "As the organizers of WCIT 2019, we decided to take a bold, unconventional approach while setting the agenda. We sometimes seriously consider even controversial ideas from all those who have significant insights about the IT industry and beyond. With over 240 million followers, Kim Kardashian-West has one of the largest audiences on social media. She is one of the most influential voices of our time in the world. We are confident that Kim Kardashian-West, as an extraordinarily successful entrepreneur, a pioneer in this field, and as a woman and mother, will have a significant and intriguing message about entrepreneurship in the world of social media, which she has contributed to shaping and creating for two decades. In our view, it is impossible to have a serious conversation on this topic without her participation. We look forward to welcoming Kim Kardashian-West to her ancestral country and the great stage of ideas at WCIT 2019."

Kim Kardashian-West has actively used her platform to advocate for criminal justice reform, and in May she announced that she has begun studying law in California. This September, she will present her highly anticipated "SKIMS" fashion collection, alongside the "KKW BEAUTY" and "KKW Fragrance" lines launched in 2017.

The "WCIT" World Congress on IT is the most prominent event of the Global Union for Information Technologies and Services (GUITS). The union comprises associations from 83 countries and represents 90 percent of the sector. For 40 years, leading figures in the tech sector—including CEOs, investors, policymakers, and academics—have gathered at this annual event to discuss the state of the industry, its development direction, and its significance for our future.

This year, the theme of the "WCIT" World Congress is "The Power of Decentralization: Expectations and Dangers." The congress will comprehensively discuss how information and communication technologies are transforming our lives in both positive and negative ways, and the impacts these transformations have on profit and prosperity, safety and security, democracy, and humanitarianism.

The Yerevan congress expects over 2,000 participants from 70 countries.
