Kim Kardashian Diagnosed with Disease

American-Armenian star Kim Kardashian has revealed her health struggles in the latest episode of the reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, where she learned about the presence of antibodies related to lupus, according to Daily Mail.

The 38-year-old television personality's sister, Kylie Jenner, attempted to comfort her distraught sibling. Kim confessed that prior to the birth of her youngest child, she had been experiencing joint pain, headaches, and a continuous feeling of fatigue.

Kardashian has also been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. At the beginning of the show, she shared with her mother about her constant fatigue, stating that she needed to take a pregnancy test to determine whether she was pregnant.

While playing with her three-year-old son, Saint, Kim felt a tremor in her hands, describing it as if she was 'falling apart.' After searching for information about her symptoms online, Kim decided to consult a rheumatologist at one of the Beverly Hills hospitals. The doctor advised her to undergo a complete blood analysis.

Later, the doctor delivered the shocking news to Kim. Lupus is a systemic chronic autoimmune disease that affects connective tissues and blood vessels, where antibodies produced by the immune system damage the DNA of healthy cells. The disease gets its name from a hallmark symptom—a rash on the nose and cheeks (resembling a butterfly shape) which was believed in the Middle Ages to be reminiscent of a wolf bite.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a long-term autoimmune disorder that primarily affects the joints.
