Explosion of Gas Cylinder in Vehicle Trunk in Yerevan
On September 9, at 10:30 AM, the "911" service received a report that a vehicle was on fire near building 15 on Shiraz Street in Yerevan. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
Two firefighting crews from the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene. It was revealed that an explosion of a liquefied gas cylinder occurred in the trunk of a "VAZ-21099" vehicle (driver: Mamikon K., born in 1964), which ignited a fire. The driver suffered burns to his hands.
The injured individual was transported to the Republican Scientific Center of Radiative Medicine and Burns. The fire was extinguished by local forces. The trunk of the vehicle was burned, the cabin was partially damaged, and both the front and rear windows were shattered.
The rescuers disconnected the vehicle from the power supply and removed it from the traffic zone.
