Yura Ivanyan Has Not Submitted a Resignation Letter, He Continues to Serve: Naira Harutyunyan
Reports have circulated in the media stating that Yura Ivanyan, head of the investigative group for the Amulsar case, and Samvel Avetisyan, Deputy Chair of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, have been dismissed from their positions.
Naira Harutyunyan, head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee, stated on her Facebook page that Yura Ivanyan has not submitted a resignation letter and continues to serve. An internal investigation is underway, and a decision will be made as a result.
It is worth noting that Yura Ivanyan, head of the investigative group for the Amulsar case, had previously stated that there are no grounds for continuing criminal prosecution related to the Amulsar mine.
Experts had questioned Ivanyan's impartiality, arguing that he could not objectively investigate the allegations of environmental pollution linked to a public official's deliberate concealment of information, given that this official is his cousin.
Regarding Samvel Avetisyan, Deputy Chair of the Investigative Committee, his dismissal decision has already been published on the official government website.
