We Intend to Collaborate with Armenia's High-Tech Ecosystem, Says Paul Remy

During a two-day visit to Armenia, a delegation from the French multinational technology leader Thales Group, invited by President Armen Sarkissian, held a series of meetings with the Ministers of Economy, Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, as well as with officials from the high-tech sector and representatives from technology and innovation companies, discussing directions and prospects for cooperation.

As reported by the President's press service, summarizing the outcomes of the visit and meetings, Paul Remy, Vice President and Regional Director of the company, stated: “The goal of our visit is to gather as much information as possible within the framework of the working group established between Armenia and Thales Group to clarify the potential directions in which we can establish a presence in your country. Therefore, this is very important. We are very optimistic. Soon we will present to our CEO everything we found here with the aim of taking further steps.”

He noted that there are very good perspectives for cooperation: “Our wish is to achieve tangible results and carry out serious work. We intend to collaborate with Armenia's high-tech ecosystem. However, we need to work seriously to clarify real and tangible directions. We are considering several sectors for cooperation. We saw very encouraging elements in the field of electronic testing capabilities, and interesting approaches in artificial intelligence. We intend to visit Armenia again as often as necessary. Armenia has many resources, for example, human capital. As a high-tech company, we view Armenia as a large market. Armenia is a small country, but it has very strong educational and technological foundations, which is a significant advantage for a company like Thales,” emphasized Paul Remy.

Thales Group operates in various countries around the world, engaged in the design and construction of electrical systems and providing services in aerospace, defense, transportation, and security markets.
