VIDEO: Man Who Robbed Pensioner Identified

A pensioner reported to the police department in Kapan on September 5 around noon that, an hour earlier, near a bridge leading from the Dzork neighborhood to Arzumanyan alley, a man had openly stolen her wallet which contained 96,000 drams, and then fled the scene.

This information was provided by the Public Relations and Information Department of the Armenian Police. Criminal investigators, as part of the efforts to identify the perpetrator and recover the stolen items, received information that the crime might have been committed by a 39-year-old resident of the Baghaberd neighborhood in Kapan.

One hour after the report, the suspect was apprehended by the police in Kapan. He gave a confession and partially returned the stolen money. Efforts are underway to recover the remaining stolen amount. An investigation is being conducted regarding the incident.
